1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Claymate mobile application ("App") or visiting our website at claymate.app ("Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App or Website.

"Claymate," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the operators of the Claymate App and Website. "You" and "your" refer to you, the user.

2. Description of Service

Claymate is a pottery and ceramics project management app that allows you to:

  • Track pottery projects through every stage of the creative process
  • Document your work with photos at each stage
  • Get AI-powered pottery advice, glaze recommendations, and troubleshooting assistance
  • Log glaze recipes, clay bodies, and firing details
  • Use voice input for hands-free note taking

The App is provided for personal, non-commercial use. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice.

3. User Accounts

To use the App, you must create an account using a supported authentication method (Apple Sign In, Google OAuth, or email and password). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Claymate offers a free tier and a paid subscription plan ("Claymate Pro"). Claymate Pro provides access to premium features including unlimited AI conversations, the Gemini 2.5 Pro model, and advanced photo analysis.

Pricing

  • Free: Unlimited projects, 10 AI messages per day, photo documentation, and voice input.
  • Pro Monthly: $3.99 per month for all premium features.
  • Pro Annual: $39.99 per year for all premium features (save 16%).

Billing

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store account. Prices are displayed in-app before purchase. All payments are processed by Apple and are subject to their terms and refund policies.

Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription through your device's account settings.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.

5. AI Features Disclaimer

The AI Studio feature is powered by Google Gemini and provides pottery-related suggestions, glaze recommendations, and troubleshooting assistance. AI-generated content is provided for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute professional advice.

We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated responses. You should always use your own judgment and consult qualified professionals when making decisions about kiln safety, material handling, glaze chemistry, or other matters that may affect your health or safety.

6. User Content and Data

You retain full ownership of all content you create and upload to Claymate, including project data, photos, descriptions, and notes. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content as necessary to provide the service.

We do not claim ownership of your content. You may delete your data at any time through the App.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Scrape, mine, or otherwise extract data from the App in an automated manner
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or networks
  • Use the AI features to generate harmful, misleading, or abusive content
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent free tier limits or restrictions
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the App or any of its features

8. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, and user interface, is the property of Claymate and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our express written permission.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Claymate and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the App
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
  • Any bugs, viruses, or errors in the App
  • Any content or conduct of any third party on the App

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will cease immediately.

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your account through the App. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any subscription fees already paid.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other means. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Claymate operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
